​International show jumper Tim Stockdale, born 1964.  Tim first represented Great Britain in 1988. He represented his country on over 50 occasions in Nations’ Cup teams including, the 2002 World Equestrian Games, the 2008 Olympic Games in China and the 2009 European Championships. In early 2010, he served as Chef d’Equipe for the victorious Great Britain team in Nations’ Cup contest in Abu Dhabi.
Tim is probably one of the best known faces in British Show Jumping.
In recognition of his “outstanding services” to equestrian sport, Tim was presented with the British Equestrian Federation’s Medal of Honour at the British Open Show Jumping Championships in April, 2010. In 2006, he was awarded an Honorary Degree by Nottingham Trent University for services to equestrianism. Tim’s yard is located in Roade, Northamptonshire. With the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit and Towcester Racecourse near by, this is an area renowned for its sporting connections.
Tim embarked on the journey to international show jumping stardom at the age of just seven when his riding talents were first recognised at Nottinghamshire’s Grove Pony Club. On leaving school, he went immediately to work with horses at Mike Saywell’s yard in Retford. Soon after, he seized the opportunity to work as second jockey to acclaimed show jumper, Graham Fletcher.

Tim gained further valuable experience by working with and training under John Taylor before setting out on his own in 1990 with six horses. His major competitive breakthrough had come two years previously when he won a major class at the Royal Windsor Horse Show riding, Supermarket.

Show jumpers trained and ridden by Tim soon became world-class performers – horses like The Frog, Mighty McGuigan, Santa’s Echo, Interview, Parcival, Glenwood Springs, Wiston Bridget, Cloudy Night, Corlato, Samoens, K2 and The Toymaker, Fleur de L’Aube.
Tim had always been very involved in the sport, not only as a rider but is also keen to raise the profile of the sport as a whole. Tim has also risen to fame through significant media appearances. He was the subject of a Channel Four documentary Cutting Edge, followed by another Channel Four reality TV show “Faking It”. He also raised the profile of show jumping and sums of money for Sports Relief through his role as trainer in the BBC televised “Only Fools On Horses” training celebrities to ride and jump in just one month.
Tim was Chairman of the BSJA Marketing Committee from 2004 to 2007, a role he stepped down from to concentrate on his Olympic ambition for 2008. 

Tim passed away in November 2018 at the age of 54 leaving wife Laura and their two sons, Joseph and Mark.  

Why  have we become TEAM STOCKDALE?  We had started to use the name TEAM STOCKDALE in 2018 and Tim liked it so much it has now become our company name.
